Watching greatness

by The Last Hollywood Star

Albert Pujols wasn’t the most destructive Cardinal in Friday night’s 14-7 rout of the woeful Pirates. Even though Pujols went 2-4 with a home run and three RBIs, the destroyer was Ryan Ludwick, 5-5, two home runs and five RBIs.

Still if you go to PNC Park either Saturday or Sunday, be aware of where Pujols ranks among the all-time greats.

Pujols is one of only five major league players who have a slugging percentage over .600 an on-base percentage of over .400 and a batting average over .300.

The others are: Jimmy Foxx, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ted Williams.
