Taste is of the utmost importance to her.<br /><br />"Manners" are everything but they consist of knowing not to eat peas with your knife and other rules and rituals. Manners that enable one to make another feel comfortable or appreciated are foreign to her. Taste is something of a weapon then.<br /><br />That said, people who blow their nose in a cloth napkin or who have actual dirty fingernails 30 minutes (or two days) after completing a dirty job really are a bit retarded and I have little desire to keep company with people committed to such cluelessness.<br /><br />Diana West was an extraordinary woman.
